December 2020

Dear Friend of Urban Youth Collaborative (UYC),

We recently honored sixty-two students in San Diego and thrity-nine in Tijuana who successfully completed our intensive discipleship experience. "Vosi" (a student leader and President of SCPA High School's Bible Club) shared his testimony about God's faithfulness during the personal trials he faces as a teenager and athlete in an inner-city public school. At the end of his talk, he chose to be baptized! As he went public with his faith in Christ, his peers gained courage to stand up for Jesus while they watched from the shore. It's exciting to see God at work among the next generation!

The gospel cannot be quarantined. God is at work by drawing kids to Jesus during this time of significant need and opportunity. UYC staff and church partners are buys investing in discipleship relationships with student leaders, church partners, and campus allies linked to public schools we serve.

Through creative outdoor and online engagement, these Christ-centered connections have resulted in:

• 160 student leaders experiencing weekly Christian mentoring relationships.

• 101 students participating in an in-depth discipleship curriculum called "Knowing God Personally".

• 60 weekly connections with local church partners (pastors and youth pastors).

• 80 weekly connections with campus allies (faculty, principals, and coaches) at public schools where we serve.

• 25,305 meals distributed to hungry students and families in partnership with San Diego Unified School District and other agencies.

• $4,850 in grocery and restaurant gift cards given to kids and families facing food insecurity.

• $18,000 in personal protective equipment (PPE) provided to vulnerable schools, churches, and families.

God has done incredible things in the lives of young people during this unusual season. With 2020 coming to an end, we know that the Holy Spirit will use uncertain times to steer kids to the security that Christ alone can provide, now and forever.

There are more students that need to be equipped to share Christ and make disciples among the next generation. Would you consider a special gift to UYC?

Your tax-deductible investment empowers students to shine the light of Jesus everywhere they go. Young disciples change the culture at public schools, on sports teams, in their families, in virtual environments, and in their own communities.

Like most charities, UYC relies on a strong year-end campaign to meet budget projections. In order to reach those God has called us to serve, we need to raise $80,000 by December 31st. Your gift will provide more opportunities to invest in students like Vosi who change the culture and spiritual atmosphere at public schools.

Thank you for your partnership in the gospel! You are changing lives, one teenager at a time.

Blessings for a Merry Christmas,

Rev. Nate Landis, M.Div., Ph.D.
President & Founder, UYC

P.S. Your gift by December 31st will ensure more students like Vosi get equipped to serve Jesus and disciple their friends. Would you prayerfully consider how you can help?
