7th Annual School Beautification Day

A Painted Door is an Open Door

Over the last 7 years, Urban Youth Collaborative (UYC) partnered with local congregations, school administrators, and the US Navy to mobilize thousands of faith-based volunteers to beautify campuses throughout San Diego County during the summer school beautification season.  Last August about 800 church volunteers and community partners beautified 25 schools in San Ysidro, inner-city San Diego, North Park, Santee, Escondido, Fallbrook, San Marcos, and Vista.

In an era of budget cuts, School Beautification Day has become a welcome tradition for students and administrators alike. A clean and freshly painted school communicates that students matter and builds favor with administrators of all backgrounds.

We look forward to our next School Beautification Day in August, 2017.
